B.C. Cannabis Stores looking for one store manager, two assistant managers, six full-time cannabis consultants and eight part-time/auxiliary cannabis consultants
The B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch will be holding a job fair in Kamloops this week to find employees for its Lansdowne Village B.C. Cannabis Store, with the downtown location expected to open in the late summer.
The job fair will be held on Wednesday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel, at 1180 Rogers Way in Aberdeen.
B.C. Cannabis Stores is looking for one store manager, two assistant managers, six full-time cannabis consultants and eight part-time/auxiliary cannabis consultants to work in the soon-to-be opened outlet at 350-450 Lansdowne St.
While LDB recruiters will be collecting resumes at the event, all prospective candidates must submit their application via the LDB’s online portal at bcldb.com/about/careers to be considered. All employment opportunities for B.C. Cannabis Stores are posted at this site.
Successful candidates will receive extensive training, concentrating on social responsibility practices related to safety and responsible adult use, comprehensive product knowledge and customer service skills. Product knowledge and an understanding of the essential elements related to cannabis products and the industry are appreciated, but not required. Retail experience is also appreciated.
B.C. Cannabis Stores employees will be required to undergo an enhanced security screening check, in accordance with the Cannabis Control and Licensing Act.
When a job fair was held to fill positions in the B.C. Cannabis Store in Sahali neighbourhood — the first legal cannabis store to open in B.C., on Oct. 17, 2018 — hundreds of people lined up to apply.
The Lansdowne Village B.C. Cannabis Store outlet is expected to open in late summer and will span 3,771 square feet. larger than the 3,009-square-foot Sahali store.
Meanwhile, a third government cannabis store, which will be located on the north side of Northills Centre in North Kamloops, has its employees hired and is expected to open this summer, before the downtown location.
